Professor Masashi Yanagisawa of S'UIMIN, a company that provides the optional "sleep" test, has received the Lasker Award.

Professor Masashi Yanagisawa (Director of the International Institute for Integrative Sleep Medicine), who serves as a director, CSO, and chairman of S'UIMIN, the provider of the optional sleep test offered at our clinic, has been awarded the "2026 Albert Lasker Basic Medical Research Award."

Regarding the optional "sleep" test

Our clinic's "sleep" option test measures brainwaves and other parameters while you sleep at home, objectively evaluating the quantity and quality of your sleep in your usual sleep environment.

This can be used as an opportunity to learn about your own sleep patterns, which cannot be determined solely from your usual sleep duration.

About Professor Masashi Yanagisawa's research and this award

Professor Yanagisawa has been researching the mechanisms of sleep and wakefulness for many years.

This award recognizes the discovery of orexin, a neuropeptide that plays a crucial role in regulating sleep and wakefulness, and the research that revealed that orexin deficiency can lead to narcolepsy.

Sleep is deeply connected to our physical and mental health and our daily lives.

Take this opportunity to learn about your own sleep patterns and use the "Sleep" option test as a starting point for reviewing your daily sleep habits.
