H. pylori is detected from 80-90% in patients with a peptic or duodunel ulcer, The cause is not only from H. pylori but eradication therapy of the bacteria will decrease the risk of onset.   Presently, 50% of patients with peptic or duodenal ulcers have a relapse within one year.　　 

H. pylori is related with the stubborn cases and relapses with ulcer treatment.  Not only eradicating it and allow the ulcer to heal, the therapy avoids colonization of the stomach by H. pylori which results in chronic gastritis, an inflammation of the stomach lining. Therefore, H. pylori eradication is recommended for prevention of gastric cancer.
