Caries (cavity) treatment

Decayed tooth will not recover by itself. After removing the infected tooth, cavity is restored by the composite resin or the metal. Infected tooth is removed based on the idea of MI(Minimum Intervention) with maximum efficiency.

For example, removing of the cavity by the power tools(turbines) always risk the damage of the vital tooth especially dealing with the deeper area of the dentin. In this case we use the manual tools(spoon excavator) and this enables us to do more meticulous work even though it takes more time.

We apply these ideas for each treatment procedures scientifically, and treat patients gently with the least damage to the teeth.

■Treatment example

Treatment example

Cavity was removed completely with the manual tool and restored by the composite resin material using the manual tool which helps to reduce the post treatment pain. Leaving the marginal ridge makes it possible to restore by composite resin for this case.

Periodontal Treatment

Periodontitis is the gum disease that destroys the periodontal tissues (tissues that support the teeth). At first, this is the inflammation originated around only gums by the plaque, and progresses to the destructive inflammation called periodontitis.
Today, periodontal disease is one of the major causes of losing teeth.
Periodontal disease is a chronic disease, and is reported to have relations among diabetes and heart diseases, and more than 70% of people are infected with this disease. The problem is that it is very difficult to notice its progress, and so routine check ups and treatment at the early stage is very important.
Initial treatment of the periodontal disease is cleaning. Removing the dental plaque and tartar which is cause of the inflammation, and this healthier oral hygiene help to stop the progress of the periodontal disease to a certain extent. If cleaning is not enough, surgical treatment or regenerative therapy will be applied.
We will examine and diagnose your own oral condition, and the dentist, dental hygienest will fight against the periodontal disease together to help you have a comfortable oral hygiene.

Root Canal Treatment

When bacteria infection reaches to the dental pulp, or the bacteria infection is deep in the dentin and acute pain is not relieved, root canal treatment is going to be the option to take. Root canal treatment is very important because the quality of the treatment affects the longevity of the teeth.
Root canal treatment can be divided into two categories.

1.Pulp extraction
removing of the vital dental pulp needs to be done when you have irreversible pain due to deep cavities.
2.Infected root canal treatment
removing of the infected and necrotized pulp tissue retreatment of the root canal treatment.

The ultimate purpose of the root canal treatment is to block the inside and outside of the biological body.

Important thing is to prevent bacteria infection of the dental pulp, since the inflammation caused by the infection sometimes leads to the extraction of the teeth.
Correct clinical diagnose can prevent infection in advance, and this enables to preserve your dental pulp.

Root canal treatment is categorized in to the following procedures.

1.Pulp preservation
preservation of all or partial dental pulp
2.Pulp extraction
removal of the dental pulp and prevent future infection
3.Infected root canal treatment
removal of the infected and necrotized pulp tissue
4.Retreatment
root canal treatment of the previously root canal treated teeth
5.Surgical treatment
surgical treatment of a tooth dislocated by accident.
6.Trauma
treatment of the dislocated tooth by the accident

Most of the common root canal treatments fall among treatment option 2,3 or 4.
Decent restorative treatment right after the root canal treatment will decrease the risk of the Root canal retreatment.

Treatment procedure and settings
Dental dam
This latex sheet is used for the isolation of the tooth, which enables us to treat without saliva, which contains lots of bacteria thought to be the cause of infection. It also help to prevent accidental swallowing of tools or chemical solutions.
Microscope
The inner area of teeth are very complex. It is extremely difficult to eradicate the infected area of teeth with the bare eye. By using a 20x power microscope we will aim to quickly eliminate the infection with the nerve treatment.

If you need to extract your teeth, bridge(fixed prosthesis) or
denture(removable prosthesis) is needed
The important factor of these treatments are

  1. 1.Precise work
  2. 2.Natural morphology and proportion to the surrounding tissues
  3. 3.Easy to clean

We achieve these factors by delicate treatment and high standard proffessionalism of dental technicians.

「How long does it last?」is a frequently asked question.
Statistics studies show that an average prosthesis lasts about 7 years.
The period varies depending on each case, but we make them to last at least 5 years.

With appropriate prosthodontic treatment planning and maintenance,
we believe the prosthesis will last longer and reduce the risk of retreatment.

Malocclusion(Bite / teethline)

Leaving teeth loss by cavities or periodontal disease might cause malocclusion.Symptoms of malocclusion is variant, they may accelerate the further loss of teeth. It may also affect the change of facial expression and general health(shoulder discomfort etc)
We recommend to prevent the loss of teeth in advance by the adequate initial treatment.
But unfortunately if you already have malocclusion, it is important to find out the reason and treat it. Treatment options include the morphological alteration and orthodontics, and with those, you could maintain a long lasting result.

■Symptoms caused by malocclusion(tooth loss)

  • *Difficulty to bite naturally
  • *Hit the upper and lower front teeth stronger
  • *Notice the spaces between the front teeth
  • *Asymmetry of the facial impression
  • *Worn out lower front teeth
  • *Frequent perleche

    Post-treatment

Typical malocclusion case. No vertical stop at the molar area makes patient use only front teeth.
You can not see the lower front teeth since the bite is too deep.
Patient got the removable partial denture on the lower molar, and also had alteration of the shape and color.
